ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

  • Accurately orders and accounts for material and labor relative to assignments.
  • Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, Local and Board of Education Guidelines.
  • Periodic work day flexibility to perform certain tasks, including for snow removal operations.
  • Performs general maintenance work inside and outside the physical plant such as rough and finish carpentry, concrete, masonry, glazing, painting, insulation, ceiling and floor covering replacement.
  • Will also perform district wide grounds maintenance work such as snow shoveling, plowing, salting, or athletic field lining.
  • Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase and maintains the inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel in routine maintenance activities and the installation and maintenance of facilities equipment and infrastructure.
  • Performs all other duties, which may be assigned by the Facilities Director, Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor, or Maintenance Foreman.
  • Operation of district vehicles.
  • Welding experience a plus.

 

COLLABORATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work effectively with other district administrative, maintenance, and custodial staff.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. Experience in general maintenance, painting, glazing, ceiling and flooring replacement, concrete, masonry, hardware, and insulation.
  3. Welding, Finish Carpentry, and Rough Framing experience preferred.
  4. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.  Required to obtain FBI, State Police, and PA Child Abuse clearances.

 

Job Type: Full Time; 260 days per year; 40 hours per week

 

Excellent benefits. Minimum starting rate $18.50 per hour; experience may be applied
