Springfield School District is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. The candidate should possess knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in writing education. (The Collins Program, National/PA Writing Project, etc.) This position will be a writing teacher in the middle school.
- Plan and develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum, department/school goals, and students' needs
- Differentiate instruction so that all learning styles are included, and every student is reached
- Desire to teach middle school-aged children and ability to adapt to their developmental status
- Fosters an environment which encourages active student participation in the learning process
- Effectively and timely communicates with students, parents, and building or district-level staff
- Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently
Requirements:
- Valid PA certification in Grades 4-8 (All subjects 4-6, English Language Arts and Reading 7-8) or Grades 4-8 (All subjects 4-6, Social Studies 7-8).
- All PA clearances
Multiple certifications preferred. Recent middle or upper elementary experience preferred.
This is a contract position for the start of the 23-24 school year.
